Jiant started deejaying at junior high parties in Kalamazoo, Michigan with the dream of becoming one of the best club deejays in the world. He moved to L.A. and enrolled in Colombia School of Broadcasting while continuing to spin records for several local South Central parties. Jiant received an offer in Tucson, Arizona to launch a 24/7 Hip-Hop AM station called “Power 1490” to be their primary mixer and weekend host.
Soon after, Jiant was noticed by a larger and more notable station in Phoenix called “Power 92.” He spent the following 3 years running radio at Power 92 and the biggest club in Phoenix called the “The Roxy.”
Jiant was eventually presented the opportunity in Washington, DC to work for the legendary Cathy Hughes and the launch of Radio One. He was initially hired as a Production Director as well as a weekend on air host for WKYS “Kiss” FM. During the company’s expansion they needed quality personnel in Philadelphia, so they hired him as Production Director and midday host for “Philly 103.9” for 2 years.
He eventually worked at WBLS in New York as on air talent and a club host while remaining a meaningful staple in the East Coast radio market thereafter. With 30 years of experience, Jiant is poised for the new soul of NY 108 Soul.
